- Abstract:
- This paper presents the results of a comprehensive investigation of the geotechnical condition of the slopes of the Shiilibulak open-pit mine in the Karatau phosphorite basin, based on geodetic monitoring, remote sensing, and numerical modeling of the stress-strain state of the rock mass. The aim of the study is to identify potentially unstable slope sections and assess their stability to support engineering decisions aimed at improving the safety of open-pit mining operations. The proposed methodology includes the establishment of a local geodetic control network, high-precision GNSS observations, UAV-based aerial photogrammetry, terrestrial laser scanning, the development of a three-dimensional digital model of the open pit, and finite element modeling of the stress-strain state using the GeoStab software package. The obtained results can be applied to the development of integrated geomechanical monitoring systems and to the prediction of deformation processes in open-pit mines under complex mining and geological conditions.
