- All scientific manuscripts submitted to the journal “Mine Surveying and Subsurface Use” must cover the most pressing issues of engineering geology and technology in mining and surveying operations, scientific achievements and practices for increasing the efficiency of these operations, applied scientific research, the introduction of new developments in mining, construction and other fields, safety and environmental issues in mining operations relevant to the subject matter of the journal.
- The Editorial Board assesses the correctness of the formatting of incoming manuscripts and their quality. The Editor-in-Chief or Subject Editor, a member of the Editorial Board, decides to send an article for peer review.
- The review of scientific manuscripts corresponding to the subject of the Journal, for their expert assessment, is carried out by two experts: the first is a member of the Editorial Board, and the second is an independent expert. All reviewers are recognized specialists in the subject area of the reviewed materials and, over the past 3 years, have published articles on the manuscript's topics or closely related issues.
- The Editorial Board provides single-blind peer review. Reviewers are aware of the identity of the authors, but authors are unaware of the identity of the reviewers.
- The results of peer-reviewing are provided to the authors upon their written request without a signature and indication of the peer-reviewer's last name, position, and place of work.
- The reviewer must give recommendations to the author and the editors on how to improve the manuscript. The reviewer's comments and suggestions must be objective and fundamental, aimed at improving the scientific and methodological levels of the manuscript.
- The final part of the review should contain substantiated conclusions about the manuscript as a whole and a clear recommendation on the advisability of its publication in the journal: it is recommended, taking into account the correction of the deficiencies noted by the reviewer, or it is not recommended to publish the article in a journal included in the VAK List.
- In case of a negative assessment of the manuscript as a whole, the reviewer must justify his/her conclusions particularly convincingly.
- The editors send copies of reviews or a reasoned refusal to the authors of the submitted materials, and undertake to send copies of reviews to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation upon receipt of a corresponding request by the editors. Articles requiring revision are sent to the author along with the review and comments of the editor. The author of an article not accepted for publication is sent a reasoned refusal upon request (the editors correspond with the authors of articles by e-mail, except in exceptional cases).
- The decision on the advisability of publication after review is made by the editor-in-chief (deputy editor-in-chief), and, if necessary, by the editorial board as a whole.
- The following are not allowed for publication:
- articles whose authors refuse to correct the deficiencies in the design of the articles;
- articles whose authors do not respond to constructive comments from the reviewer.
- Not reviewed:
- articles by members of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Mining Sciences, if the member of the Academy is the only one or the first of the authors of the publication;
- articles recommended for publication by mining forums: scientific reports heard at congresses, conventions, conferences, etc., as well as resolutions (decisions) of forums recommended for publication and formatted as articles;
- informational, informational and advertising, image articles, messages and announcements.
- Reviews are stored by the publisher and the editorial office for 5 years.
