- Abstract:
- Underground mining of coal deposits is accompanied by many risks, one of which is spontaneous combustion of coal, leading to many negative consequences. Therefore, in order to prevent the negative impact of emerging risks, surveying observations of deformations of the Earth’s surface, which are the result of underground fires, are carried out. The paper highlights the issues of introducing the radar interferometry method into a complex of surveying operations to monitor deformations of the Earth’s surface in the coal mining area. The article discusses the characteristics and operating principle of radar interferometry. An example of a study of the relationship between underground fires and resulting deformations of the Earth’s surface is presented. The scheme of application of radar interferometry in the surveying monitoring of vertical subsidence of the Earth’s surface is shown. An algorithm for performing surveying operations using radar interferometry is proposed in order to detect spontaneous combustion of coal. This article will be a material for the development of further research on the characteristics of radar interferometry and its application in surveying activities.
