- The handbook contains a set of tables and diagrams characterizing the position of Russia in the global deposits and marketable mineral products made by main producers; main indicators of the available reserves of iron ore, its quality, availability, volumes of production and marketable mineral products, their commercial value, export and import during a specified period of time; trends in change in these indicators by districts, regions and iron-ore deposits under development within last 12-13 years; it also provides brief comments on their assessment. The handbook provides the main data on the mining and other companies that have licenses for development of specific iron-ore deposits.

- The article highlights the features of the diamond mining industry in Yakutia. The history of the discovery and study of the Popigai deposit of impact diamonds, formed as a result of the penetration of the huge meteorite of the same name into the rock mass, is traced. Some features of Popigai crystals and the prospects of their use in various sectors of the national economy of the country are characterized.

Dispersibility characteristics in explaining the behavior of oil-water zones during waterflooding of fields in Eastern Siberia
- Abstract:
- In the course of laboratory research of oil samples collected from Eastern Siberia fields it was discovered that there is a possibility of decrease in formation coverage and productivity rate due to waterproofing with formation of «water blocks». Analysis of the main characteristics in the process of liquid-liquid interaction which affects the flow behavior and the formation of water-oil emulsions, showed the formation of surface layers up to several molecular sizes thick, within which becomes possible self-formation of structured microemulsions in the presence of salts. This research explains the manifestations of viscous and structural-mechanical properties, as well as the main characteristics in understanding the mechanisms of the behavior of fluids in oil-water contact zones. Intermediate results of research of the non-Newtonian behavior of water-oil zones allow us to assert that the violation of the linear filtration law can be explained not only by the properties of pore channels, but also by the complex interaction of the properties of liquids.

Algorithm for determination of vertical steel tanks' bottom settlement on laser reflection point cloud

- Abstract:
- Geodetic monitoring of vertical steel tanks' bottom settlement is an important constituent of safe exploitation of such objects, especially in the regions with weak and permafrost ground. In the article the authors suggest in automatic system of technical maintenance and repair of equipment to use an algorithm of «gradient descent» for the determination of tank bottom settlement on laser reflection point cloud.

Research of accuracy of automatic targeting by robotic total station at short distances

- Abstract:
- The paper deals with the accuracy of automatic targeting at the prism reflector of two robotic total stations – Sokkia-SX101P with Auto-Pointing function and Trimble S8 with Autolock function. The study was carried out for short distances (up to 15 m) with the reflector oriented towards the instrument. Sighting on the target was carried out automatically and manually, measurements were simultaneously carried out along the horizontal and vertical circles. Comparison of the root mean square error of measurements for both methods is evaluated. In this case, the value of the error during automatic targeting does not exceed the declared by the manufacturer. The actual position of the sighting point was also compared, it was found that for both robotic total stations it is located above the intersection of the prism faces, however, in the Trimble S8 there is no definite dependence in the horizontal displacements, unlike the Sokkia SX-101P, where the displacements are unidirectional.

Determination of the boundaries of dangerous deformations and shear zones of rocks at the Tyrnyauz deposit
- Abstract:
- Displacements and deformations of rocks and the earth's surface can cause damage to engineering structures and buildings, mining facilities, an increase in water and gas permeability of rocks over the developed space, changes in the hydrogeological regime of surface and groundwater, activation of landslide processes. The present study describes a method for determining the boundaries of rock movement zones at the Tyrnyauz tungsten-molybdenum deposit. The main causes and factors affecting the nature of the development of the process of rock movement are considered.
